Looming mountains, ancient cracks and crevices that scream out adventure, rushing rapids that spit froth into the sky and crash on the silky smooth rocks. For those who seek the adrenaline of cliff jumping, rolling through river rapids or even venturing under the Point D’arc, the visit to the Ardeche region of France encompasses that adventurous spirit.
Surrounded by the picturesque scenery, this trip was the perfect opportunity to face your fears and overcome them.
For me personally, the rock slides were the scariest. After an already busy morning, I was looking forward to lunch and felt a bit apprehensive when I found out that between me and a delicious chicken baguette was a rock slide. As I rolled downwards, the adrenaline built up as I braced for impact with the water. I fell for what seemed like ages - but then it hit me. A huge wave washed over me as I crashed into the water, bobbing up to the surface almost immediately. I instantly took back what I had thought earlier: although you may feel apprehensive when waiting for an activity, once you get involved, feel the adrenaline rush and the thrills of trying something new, you are left with a great feeling of excitement and achievement for the rest of the day. Add that to the fact we were doing countless activities each day, and you can see why we had such a fabulous time!
However, when it came to relaxing after a long day, we had amazing facilities at our disposal. Cold drinks were immensely popular - for obvious reasons - and for those who still had energy to burn, you could head to the basketball court, football pitch or volleyball court - or even go for a swim in the pool.
Overall, we all had a fantastic time during our visit. We made some incredible memories from this trip that will stay with us forever.
