Year 9: Spain Visit

Some Year 9 students travelled to sunny Salou, in Spain’s Costa Dorada region. The laid-back lifestyle and streets of Salou created the perfect environment for the students to play football on the stunning beaches at night or walk the exciting rows of shops, buzzing with nightlife. From exciting paddlesurfing and paddleboarding to traditional volleyball and kayaking, it is safe to say the students enjoyed the two days of water activities, not only creating funny moments on the water but also learning new techniques and life skills.

A surprise from the teachers left the group looking forward to the thrill-seeking rides at the PortAventura World and Ferrari Land, where the crown jewel of the park was undoubtedly Red Force, the tallest and fastest rollercoaster in Europe, reaching speeds of 112 mph!

The bustling metropolis of Barcelona certainly lived up to the hype, where the students explored the towering Barcelona Cathedral and the Mercat de la Boqueria, filled with mouth-wateringly good-looking delicacies. A short coach ride brought the journey to one of the world’s most decorated football clubs, FC Barcelona, where the students were welcomed into the fan zone featuring an immersive experience showcasing the everlasting legacy of the club.

Just as the students thought the visit couldn’t have gone any better, they ran into a school favourite Angryginge as they were about to board the flight home. Students returned home with unforgettable memories they will treasure for years to come.
