The top of a fraction is called the numerator. The bottom is called the denominator.
Equivalent fractions are all the same size. You can multiply or divide the top and bottom of a fraction by the same value to make equivalent fractions, for example:
\[ \frac{2}{6} = \frac{6}{18} = \frac{1}{3} \]
Simplifying fractions means dividing the top and bottom of a fraction until you can't go any further.
Numbers can be written as fractions, decimals or percentages.
