If you have squared paper, you should measure distances by counting squares.

When constructing an enlargement, you will always be told what the centre of enlargement is. Look for this detail.

Always start measuring (or counting) from the centre of enlargement.

When you don't have squares, always use a ruler to construct along straight lines.

Enlargements with scale factors less than 1 (for example, 0.5) make the shape smaller.

When finding a centre of enlargement use 3 pairs of points so you have a check (2 pairs is risky).

When finding a centre of enlargement on squared paper, count the squares to ensure perfect ray lines.
