The tired French Exchanges arrived at 8:30pm last Wednesday evening, after a six hour journey from Marseille, to be greeted to a huge downpour - welcome to England! After a chaotic scramble to identify one’s Exchange partner, they were taken home to meet their family and get warm and dry.

Whilst here, they participated in a wide range of activities: visiting Windsor Town and Palace; exploring Cambridge and its colleges; a boat trip on the Thames, shopping trips in Piccadilly Circus and Oxford Street and a trip to the London Eye. It was all rounded off by a tour of The Making of Harry Potter. At the weekend, the Exchanges were treated to a variety of activities with their families including walks, tours and trips.

During their time here, our partners were able to practise and improve their English and appreciate the tourist attractions, as well as the beautiful English countryside (and weather). Their time with the families in particular immersed them in our way of life, giving the Marseille students an insight into both the cultural and linguistic differences between our two countries. After an exhausting week, our Exchanges left England knowing that they had been able to improve their English and that they had made new friends.
