The British Biology Olympiad(BBO) run by the Society of Biology aims to provide gifted A level students with an opportunity to expand and extend their talents by offering a wider syllabus than A-level. The two hour ‘on line’ examination was taken by 4,200 students this year.
For the first time two DCGS students, Adam Patrick and Yusuf Patrick, recorded scores that secured Gold Medals which are the highest level of award .This was a fantastic achievement by both students and they will now be aiming to put their knowledge to good use at University. Adam plans to read Natural Sciences at Nottingham whilst Yusuf has a place at Imperial College to study Medicine. In addition, Silver Medals were won by Ahmad Guni, Alan Cheung and Kelvin Wang with Bronze Medals awarded to Henry Ip, Jack Lisle, Simon Shaw and Pranav Vangala.
The total of nine award winners is also a DCGS record so congratulations to all those students.
