World book day was a fun day for all at Dr Challoner’s. In the morning we were given small tokens that we could use to buy books for free from the library at lunchtime. There were a number of great ones to choose from, including The Boy in the Smoke by Maureen Johnson, which is an adventurous read about a boy who is sent to London where he makes friends and enemies and explores a city of mystery; Rock War - The Audition by Robert Muchamore, which is a jam-packed novel about a boy who is a natural at the guitar and wants to take his talent a step higher by sending his band into battle against other bands; and for younger people, James Patterson's Middle School, which is about a boy who got lost in London.
You also had the opportunity to bring in a book that could be sent to children much less fortunate than us in Africa. The school received hundreds of books that will all be going to a good cause. It was an exciting day.
