The year 9 Activities Week ended with the final two groups arriving back from Wales and The Isle of Wight.

In Plas y Brenin the students spent their time climbing, scrambling, canoeing, kayaking and walking. They received instruction form some of the best instructors in the world, including Dan Bradley, who was a key member of the GB team until a recent fall. His drive and determination was an inspiration to the group. The team that went to UKSA also had an excellent week with lots of sailing as well as some rough-weather power boating and the entire group achieved their RYA Powerboat Level 1 certificate at the end of the visit.

Both visits ran incredibly smoothly and surpassed the students’ expectations. Not only did they have great fun and forged new friendships but they were pushed out of their comfort zone and came through the new experiences with a real sense of achievement.
