Forty one students in Year 9 chose to spend their activities week at the Howtown Outward Bounds centre on the banks of Ullswater, the second largest lake in the Lake District.

Despite the wind, rain and cold, all the students got involved with a whole host of activities, ranging from tunnelling and rock climbing, to the very popular 'gorge walking' - walking up a mountain, through the river! As if that wasn't enough, the whole group also went on a 24 hour expedition, braving the elements and camping out on the hills.

The fantastic five day visit was rounded off perfectly with a water-based triathlon, which saw Mr Laferton and Mrs Adi capsize their canoe to very comic effect, before the group took the Ullswater Steamer back to Pooley Bridge to meet the coach.
