What a success for the ‘Friends Of Challoners’, a superb afternoon!

There was so much excitement, the football was tense, the live vocal and instrumental entertainment was thrilling and the art was magnificent.

As I entered via the school gates, an awesome sight came into view - hundreds of boys, cheering on their year groups as they went head to head with the rest of the school, ice cream vans, a stage, a Pimm’s stand, a pizza van and happiness in every nook and cranny of the whole event. It was an unthinkable sight after nearly three years to see masses of people crowded, screaming themselves hoarse and having the time of their lives.

But I had to get on with the article, so I strayed my eyes away from this sublime moment and went towards the Lorridge center where the GCSE and A-level art and graphics pieces were said to be displayed. The room was packed with paintings and people were trying to stare at five paintings at the same time, even I couldn't take my eyes off them. They were vibrant, quirky and ingenious! Even Da Vinci had some competition!

After all the paintings and football, I got to the school field where the talented boys were performing. It was GRAND!!! The noise was EXTRAVAGANT and the music was out of this world.

But after all this fun, the festival did have to end at some point.

Overall, it was an amazing experience, a great way to interact with other parents and families.

The ‘Friends of Challoners’ do really need a round of applause for all their hard efforts to make a great time because it really paid off!
