For the last 6 years Dr Challoner's has been on a journey of discovery. Through action research and the application of scientific and social-science findings, the school have developed an approach to learning we call 'Learning @ Challoners'.
The foundations of this approach were inspired by the research of Professor Guy Claxton and his book called 'Building Learning Power'. By developing a common language of learning, staff, students and parents can discuss the learning process as well as the content being studied. By building these key learning habits, we aspire for our students to be outstanding learners, as well as having outstanding success in their examinations.
On January 6th 2012, the Times Educational Supplement published an article entitled 'Flex your pupils' learning muscles' in which it discusses Professor Claxton's approach and details the work of Dr Challoner's with some inspiring quotes from our Headmaster, Dr Fenton.
