For budding writers, November is National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo). All over the country students have been trying to write a novel in 30 days. For many their target was 50,000 words, and some students even aimed higher. From the start it has been 'Thirty days and nights of literary abandon!' but NaNoWriMo has now finally finished and those ambitious authors can now have a rest.

At Challoner's we take the event very seriously and some plucky authors have written a story. One student said, 'It was hard but we pulled through in the end. My story had everything from trolls to wizards.' Many students worked together sharing ideas. NanoWrimo is a great way to encourage creative writing in students and we hope that many more students will turn up next year to write a rapid masterpiece. Miss Wilson, who has been giving the students advice, said that it was 'an enjoyable way of letting your imagination go'.
