With the publication of this year’s A Level outcomes I would like to pay tribute to the cohort of 2020. Faced, like us all, with the turmoil associated with the Covid-19 pandemic they have risen to the challenges of recent months admirably. We often stress that individuals are not defined by exam results, but by so much more, and this is as true today as ever. The experience of managing through the pandemic, allied to the character values and academic progress that they have developed throughout their school education provides this generation of students with a unique base to go on and make a positive impact on our society. Parents and teachers should be proud of the roles they have played in raising and educating this group of young people, who we wish well as they embark on the next step in their education.
