Achievements

Challoner’s is one of only a small number of schools to hold Specialist Status in three areas.

Dr Challoner's has built a reputation as one of the highest achieving schools in the country. Our students' results at GCSE and A Level are outstanding, placing Challoner's consistently among the top 50 state schools in Britain. Almost all our students move on to further study at university level and around 20 boys each year are offered places to continue their education at Oxford and Cambridge.

The school is the holder of a large number of awards and special recognition from a range of national bodies. These include: Sportsmark (Sport England); Artsmark (The Arts Council); Investors in People Award; The Healthy Schools Award; and the International Schools Award (British Council). The school is currently part of a pilot group working towards the Rights Respecting Schools Award (UNICEF).

Challoner's has been part of the Specialist Schools movement since 2002 when it became one of the first 24 Science Colleges in the UK.

Challoner’s is one of only a small number of schools to hold Specialist Status in three areas. Specialist Science College Status was achieved in 2002 and redesignated in 2007, whilst Language College Status was gained in 2007. More recently, the school was designated as a member of the Leading Edge Partnership Programme in April 2009.
