Writing: Finlay Carroll (Year 10)
As the autumn term drew to a close the school choir prepared for their final carol service of the year, held as is traditional in St Mary’s Church. The service is always a much anticipated and hugely enjoyable event and this year was no different. A mixture of traditional carols, readings and more impressive songs sung by the choir ensures that everybody is in a festive mood. The service was an excellent end to another prosperous year at Challoners and had a distinct Challoner's feel to it - staff and students sang alongside each other and students from Year Seven to Sixth Form took part in readings and music.
It was lovely to see so many previous teachers and students returning to enjoy the event, and Reverend Tim Harper was particularly complimentary, saying that it was 'the highest standard of music' he had heard in 55 years of school carol services. Thanks go to Mr Tansley, Miss Gee and the choir for their immense hard work in preparing the service.
